So now you know how your Pinterest pins help you rank higher on Google, now it’s time to discuss SEO for Pinterest.
Search engine optimization for Pinterest is the key to getting your content seen.
Plain and simple. You’ve heard me say it a million times. Pinterest is a VISUAL SEARCH ENGINE, therefore, along with stunning Pinterest pin designs, you also need to be using SEO, search engine optimization.
We optimize Pinterest pins by using the words and phrases that your ideal client and customer is searching for.
How does Pinterest SEO work?
I want you to think of yourself as a Pinterest user. Think back to the last time you opened up Pinterest to search for something. Were you searching for an idea, some inspiration or something to purchase?
Whatever it was you were searching for, you entered certain words or phrases in the Pinterest search bar.
The pins that showed up in the search results are based on pins most likely to match those keywords or phrases that you had typed in.
Now think back to the last time you simply opened the Pinterest app. You hadn’t even hit the search bar yet but your home feed was filled with Pinterest pins that piqued your interest. Again, that home feed is based off of previous searches you had made and the keywords you had used.
Now we know how the Pinterest search function works, we need to know how to harness it to our advantage as a business owner. We want YOUR PINS to be found, and engaged with when certain words and expressions are searched for.
